We pray for those caught up in conflict in Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Lord Jesus, we pray that you will bless and protect our homes, our families and our friends. Help us to build bridges of tolerance and understanding between the different generations. Make us grateful for all that we have so that we may use every endeavour to ensure that every person has a home to call his own and feels wanted within his own community.
We pray for the children and young people connected to our church through the various groups and especially for those who are beginning to sense the wonder, mysteries and difficulties of life. We ask that you will hold them in your love. May they, through the good influence of parents, families and the church, grow into a fuller understanding of your love and purpose. Help each one of us to respond to their needs. Intercessions 31/1/09
Heavenly Father, creator of a universe full of wonder and many still-hidden mysteries. Help us in our modern, sometimes confusing and fast changing world to pause and reflect on your glory and unending grace and in the stillness to listen for your voice speaking to us alone. We bring to you now our prayers and concerns for others confident in the knowledge that our prayers will be both heard and answered. As we pray for your Church both far and near we remember the great commission to go and make disciples of all nations. Help us through our services, community outreaches, study groups and other organisations to be bold in professing our faith and that we may all be one, united in love of you and in service to your world. We pray for our fellow Christians throughout your world, thinking particularly of all those for whom worshipping will lead them into dangers and difficulty. Be near them and give them courage and strength in their witness. Make them aware at all times that you are with them.
We pray for all who share in the church’s mission in this community. Help us to move forward in faith trusting in the guidance of your Holy Spirit and in your divine purpose for us all. Lord in Your mercy. - 'Hear our prayer’We continue to pray for peace in your world, and especially for those involved in the process of reconciliation and bridge building between peoples, cultures or nations.
We pray for the leaders of the countries of the world. Help them so that together they may pursue the search for peace. Above all we pray for those parts of this world where life is a continual struggle and where peace is too often a dream.
Bring peace to Israel and Palestine, to Sri Lanka, and to the many strife torn countries of Africa. Help us to be peacemakers in our neighbourhoods, with those we meet.
We give thanks for the continued cessation of hostilities in and around Gaza but pray for those for whom it has come too late. We pray for all innocent victims of violence and disease in Zimbabwe, we ask that at this critical time you provide hope for the future to those who are needlessly suffering.Lord in Your mercy. - 'Hear our prayer’We pray for our own nation, for Elizabeth our Queen, her ministers and for all who serve the people at all levels of government and responsibility. The current and deepening financial crisis creates uncertainties and hardship at all levels of our society and we pray for careful and considered leadership that transcends party politics and works for the betterment of all sections of our diverse society. As we see the jobless total rise and the increase in the reality of house repossessions on our TV screens, we pray for all charities who work to improve the lives of those blighted by misfortune and earnestly pray that our nation will still maintain its levels of giving.We pray for our armed forces overseas and their families back home and that their time ‘in theatres of conflict’ is brought to a timely conclusion. Help us all to play our part in creating and maintaining a just, equitable and loving society with Christ at the centre of our lives.Lord in Your mercy. - 'Hear our prayer’Lord, we turn our thoughts and prayers to those who are in physical, mental or spiritual need. And let our prayers extend to those who faithfully and lovingly care for them in whatever location or capacity. On this Christmas Day we want to say Thank you, holy God
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the word of God, let us pray with thankful hearts.
Good and gracious Lord, as we meet together to worship you, we pray that you will grant us a glimpse of your glory so that we may rejoice in your presence and abide in your peace.Lord Jesus, we remember at this time that you came to disturb the world, and to turn the lives of humankind to God. You brought love to those who were unloved, hope to those who had nothing to look forward to, peace to those who were full of anxious daily cares. The bells and lights and presents and decorations in church and in our homes, express our thanks to you, lord, for coming into the world in person.We pray that you will come into our lives at this time to turn us all again to you: to help to see ourselves as we really are and to remove from each one of us all that is unworthy so that we may truly share in your kingdom as we invite you to join us in all the festivities and know the joy of your loving presence.On this Christmas Day we want to say Thank you, holy GodLord Jesus, we pray that you will prepare us for your coming into the world:that in these difficult economic times you will drive away despair from our politics that you will revive our dreams of justice and restore our passion for what is right, good and true.May your love motivate our care for this neighbourhood and for the wider community and help us all to play a part in helping to overcome the social ills that drag so many into despair.

Intercessions 16/9/08
Let's pause for a minute and think about all the occasions when we have to decide which path to take, which person to support, what life choices to make. Let's take a moment to think, too, about how we react to other people who make choices that are different from our own.
Let us pray:
Hear our prayer, Lord, for the whole family of your church. Bless our Bishop’s and clergy, give your grace to our lay people here at All Saints, that they may lead us with strength and unity. Help them to see their work as service and their role as stewards of your church.
Give courage to those who are discerning their own calling within your church, show them your will, help them to understand and see your work in the world.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
We pray for our country. Let your love surround the Queen and her family; give wisdom and guidance to our statesmen and leaders, and to all who have responsibility. During these times of economic hardship guide those making decisions to make things easier for the majority, may they do this without greed or selfishness.
We pray for our world, have mercy for those in distress from war, famine and other natural disasters. Heal the sick and injured, give peace to the dying, comfort those living with loss and to those trying to bring relief and order give wisdom, courage and strength.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
Hear our prayer, Lord, for the friendship we find within the family of our church both here at All Saints and our friends at other churches in Stretford.
The comfort, peace and love of Christian friendship gives us strength. As we find these joys in our own lives may we also give them to others.
Almighty God, open our hearts that we may welcome and share our faith with others; open wide our minds that we may receive new truth and understand your will; open wide our doors that as we have come in to worship so we may go out with you to the service of the world; open wide our lives that through discipline and prayer we may experience your power in daily living.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
We thank you, O Lord, that in a world where many disagreements exist between men, women and nations, your gospel comes to break down the barriers that divide, bringing friendship that extends across all boundaries because of our common faith in Jesus Christ.
We pray today for people in countries other than our own; in countries where governments are hostile, war and natural disasters cause suffering, healing God lay your hands on those who are suffering so that they may know the support of your presence.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
Hear our prayer, Lord, for the children and young people especially those revising and getting ready for exams.
They are part of this church family which you have brought together in fellowship and care. For those leading the young in our church may your Holy Spirit increase in them the gifts and skills they bring to their work; grant them patience, imagination and love sufficient for their work. Help us all to respond to their needs.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
Hear our prayer, Lord, for those who are old. Our thoughts are especially with those who have become frail and weak, those whose eyesight is failing; those who find it difficult to hear. We think of the lonely, with many memories and few friends to fill the long hours of the day; those who must have things done for them, when they wish so much they could still do them for themselves; those who are housebound, or living in hospitals or homes.
We pray for those who care for them and we pray that we ourselves may never neglect any opportunity to offer friendship and help. Teach us to be watchful for their needs and patient with their frailty and slowness, loving and serving them as honoured members of your family.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Heavenly Father, you are the father of all people and we bring our prayers knowing that you will hear us and help us.
Hear our prayer, Lord, for the whole family of your church. Give the leaders of your Church our bishops, ministers and lay people grace to see their work as service and their role as stewards.
Grant that we, and all your people, may be built up in our faith, and always show in our lives the love we see in Jesus.
Give courage to those who find it hard to follow you; to those who are finding it difficult to have faith because of a personal hardship or tragedy and to those who are made to suffer for their faith. Let your Holy Spirit support them, and may all Christians stand firm in the hope that your kingdom of love will come into the whole world.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
We pray for our country. Let your love surround the Queen and her family; give wisdom and guidance to our statesmen and leaders, and to all who have responsibility in education, industry, and commerce.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
Hear our prayer, Lord, for the friendship we find within the family of our church. We are grateful for the support and goodwill of Christian friends around us. This is part of the joy of belonging to the church family. The comfort, peace and love of Christian friendship gives us strength. As we find these joys in our own lives may we also give them to others. Help us to understand, love and serve each other so that our thankfulness is expressed in deed as well as word.
Almighty God, open our hearts that we may welcome and share our faith with others; open wide our minds that we may receive new truth and understand your will; open wide our doors that as we have come in to worship so we may go out with you to the service of the world; open wide our lives that through discipline and prayer we may experience your power in daily living.

We thank you, O Lord, that in a world where many disagreements exist between men, women and nations, your gospel comes to break down the barriers that divide, bringing friendship that extends across all boundaries because of our common faith in Jesus Christ.
We pray today for people in countries other than our own; in countries where governments are hostile, war and natural disasters cause suffering, healing God lay your hands on those who are suffering so that they may know the support of your presence.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
Hear our prayer, Lord, for the children and young people of our church, and for those who are beginning to sense the wonder, the mystery, and the difficulty of life. They are part of this church family which you have brought together in fellowship and care. We pray for understanding and wisdom in our worship and life together, so that all we do may lead our children into a fuller and richer understanding of your love and purpose. Help us to respond to their needs. Give us patience and compassion. Help us to offer them our time and our experience with true sincerity and love.
We thank you Lord, for those who have accepted the care and leadership of children and young people in the church. May your Holy Spirit increase in them the gifts and skills they bring to their work; grant them patience, imagination and love sufficient for their tasks and in the fullness of time, crown their service with true success.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer
Hear our prayer, Lord, for those who are old. Our thoughts are especially with those who have become frail and weak, those whose eyesight is failing; those who find it difficult to hear. We think of the lonely, with many memories and few friends to fill the long hours of the day; those who must have things done for them, when they wish so much they could still do them for themselves; those who are housebound, or living in hospitals or homes.
We pray for those who care for them and we pray that we ourselves may never neglect any opportunity to offer friendship and help. Teach us to be watchful for their needs and patient with their frailty and slowness, loving and serving them as honoured members of your family.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Let us spend a moment in quiet to let God’s presence be felt and help us to hear you during our prayers.
Blessed are you, Lord our God, For you reach out to each of us in love and peace.
You offer us healing and power and you call us to share in teling this Good News to all people.
Blessed are you, Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Lord in your mercy. Hear our prayer
Lord God, we pray for your church and for the good news of the gospel.
We pray for your Church here at All Saints and all who help to keep things moving whilst we await our new minister.
We ask your blessing upon all who seek to share in the mission and outreach of Christ.
We pray that all within your Church may be enabled to fulfil their vocation.
May the Church grow in holiness, in outreach and in number.
Lord in your mercy. Hear our prayer
Lord God, we pray for your world, for those who harvest the crops.
We pray that the hungry can be fed, the homeless, the displaced for whatever reason can be cared for.
We ask you to guide those who are in charge of food and aid distribution and may no one suffer from greed and selfishness.
We ask for your blessing on all who are striving to bring peace to our world and at this time remember Zimbawbe, Burma, China at there troubled times

Lord God, we pray for our community, we give thanks to those who help others in need so that they may enjoy life to the full.
We ask for your blessing on our homes and families and those who seek to strengthen family life and to improve our surroundings.
We pray for our friends and neighbours who may feel lonely or unwanted

Lord God, we pray for those that are ill in mind body and spirit, we pray for those who are ill at home or in hospital.
Those that are depressed, discouraged, those that have fallen to weariness or sorrow.
We pray for those that are known to us and need your help in a moment of silence or out loud…..

Lord God, trusting in your love and mercy, we lay these prayers before you, which we ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Loving God, We pray for the world that you have made. We pray for people in places where there is hardship ........., injustice ............, and war.............. . We pray for organisations and individuals working with the poor of the world ............. , for those fighting injustice ........... and those striving for peace ............. .
Lord in your mercy hear our prayer.
Loving God, We pray for your Church especially our own clergy in Stretford................ . May they be guided to do what is right and to exercise their power for the benefit of others. We pray for your church throughout the world. May it learn to do good, seek justice, rescue the oppressed, defend the orphans and plead for the widows……..
Lord in your mercy hear our prayer.
Loving God, We pray for our own country ............... . We ask for wisdom for its leaders and for peace and wholeness for its people.
Lord in your mercy hear our prayer.
Loving God, We pray for people we know and love ................................. . We pray for the people we have met today and the work we have done and that it will bring us closer to you…………….

Loving God. We pray for your loving hand to stretch out and bring comfort, care and healing to those known to us to be sick in mind, body or spirit…… We also pray that you will sustain the faith and hope of those who are lonely, oppressed and anxious.

We also pray for those recently bereaved, especially we pray for the family of Gerard Michael Tobin who was shot dead this week and Garry Newlove killed protecting his family home and hope that the light of God’s coming may dawn on all those who live in darkness.

Loving God, We thank you that you hear and answer all our prayers. Help us to trust you and show us how we can be used to answer your own prayers and those of others. We lay down these prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen

Intercessions Sun 31/7/07
Heavenly Father, Lord of time and space, we acknowledge your creation for the wonder that it is and that in this small corner you have given us a special place within it. We know this because you sent Jesus to offer us the chance to be a part of your kingdom here on Earth and through him to have life eternal.
Hear us as we ask for those things which trouble our hearts and of others the world over who also acknowledge you as their Lord.. We pray for your Church, founded by ordinary people with extraordinary faith and courage. We ask that that same faith and courage be granted to your church today that it may stand as a beacon amongst so many of the ills we see in our society and the wider world.
Bless the work of our church here at All Saints’ and that of other churches in Stretford, that with your grace and through the power of your spirit folk may be drawn to the truth of Christ’s gospel as preached week by week. Support those who work to ensure that our churches are used in every possible way in serving their communities and we pray for our ministers that they may be sensitive to the communities needs.
Lord in Your mercy. - 'Hear our prayer’We pray for peace in your world. Let that process start in our own hearts where we seek only your peace, that which is indeed beyond human understanding. In the world beyond our doorstep we see, through the media, the conflict and turmoil between different ideologies, between different faiths, between the haves and the have-nots, between East and West and the list seems endless and self-replicating. We pray that peace, real peace, YOUR peace is seen as the only long lasting solution and in the meantime we earnestly pray for those who work for peace and reconciliation in all its forms and situations that they know they are doing your will.We give thanks for the release of hostages like Alan Johnston and Margaret Hill but we especially pray for the countless other, less well known, victims and for their anxious families.We remember our service personnel posted overseas and their families. We are only too aware of the mounting list of deaths and casualties and pray for lasting political solutions that will bring an end to hostilities.Lord in Your mercy. - 'Hear our prayer’We pray for this our nation, caught up in fear of terrorist attacks. Help us all to hold on to those values in our society that uphold justice and freedom within the law. We live in a nation built on Christian principles and values, help us to ensure that now in our mainly secular society they are not devalued or lost altogether. We remember our emergency services, first on the scene and at the forefront of danger. Give them Lord the knowledge, skill and courage to serve all our people at their time of need.We remember those families caught up in the recent flooding, now finding that their lives are put on hold whilst they establish how they are to rebuild homes and even communities. Be with all those Lord who face difficulty and uncertainty in their lives whatever the cause.Lord in Your mercy. - 'Hear our prayer’Lord Jesus, comforter and healer to those in both physical, mental and spiritual need, we bring before you those known to our congregation here, or to us personally, who are in need at this time. We name them in our hearts in a moment of silence or out loud and are emboldened to ask that your healing touch may be felt in their lives (silence).All these we hold up to you and commit to your loving care. Lord in Your mercy. - 'Hear our prayer’We thank you Lord for the opportunities in the life of our church to offer support and comfort to the bereaved. And so we pray for those in our midst and the wider community who face that pain of grief at the loss of a loved one; for we can in confidence claim that: -Jesus Christ is the Light of the World, a light which no darkness can quench. We remember before God those who have died and have lit candles to symbolise the light of Christ which eternally shines and brings hope.
In silence we remember………You turn our darkness into light; in your light shall we see light.Lord in Your mercy. - 'Hear our prayer’A final prayer/meditation for ourselves: In the story of Simon of Cyrene, Jesus accepted the service of Simon to carry his physical burden for him.
How willingly would jesus also permit you to carry the cross? He calls but you hear him not; He invites you but you decline.
What a reproach, to bear the cross reluctantly
Grant us each the grace to gladly bear one another’s burdens
O Jesus! Whosoever does not take up your cross and follow you, is not worthy of you. Behold, we join you in the Way of your Cross; we will be your assistants, following you bloody footsteps, that we may come to you in eternal life. AmenMerciful Father, “Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen”.

We pray for peace among the nations, that God may rid the world of violence and let peoples grow in justice and harmony, we pray especially for those engulfed in fighting in Iraq.
we pray for the government of Iran to use Nuclear power for good and not evil.

We pray for those who serve in public office, that they may work for the common good, especially we pray for the officials in Iran that they use their nuclear knowledge for good and not evil.

We pray for Christian people everywhere, that we may joyfully proclaim and live our faith in Jesus Christ, especially we pray for those working in ministry let them be guided by your Holy Spirit

We pray for those who suffer from hunger, sickness or loneliness, that the presence of Christ may bring them all that they need, especially we pray for those providing support, shelter and food to the people who have lost their homes in the recent Tsunami in the Solomon Islands.

In a moment of silence (or out loud) we pray for those that are close to us and need our prayers and those that we no longer see but remember……..
Let us commend ourselves and all for whom we pray to the mercy and protection of God
Merciful Father, accept these our prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
